Roberta Campos Costa (33yo), mother of three young children who lost her income that she earned by making cakes. She also lost her home due to flooding and fortunately is one of the people who are being assisted by the program. Separated from her ex-husband, she has to pick up the food herself and load the 3 baskets delivered by the school. She then pushes her shopping cart to the community where she lives. Roberta says that if it weren’t for the school’s action to deliver food, her children would have nothing to eat.
00:15:00 – Roberta Campos Costa Silva –33yo – single mother of 3 young children – resident of the Singapore community at Av. Zachi Narchi / Sao Paulo.
“This moment of the pandemic for me is very difficult because I am self-employed, I work with cake sales and at this very moment I … (laughs) lost … my house, everything in Jardim Pery. Then I came to stay in the occupation.”
01:00:00 – “Right now I am homeless, with my three young daughters and I have no other help and I just have to be thankful for everything that the school has done for us, and our families at this time. I am a mother who chose to fight, a mother who is choosing to fight for her daughters.”
“My daughters are only eating through the actions that the school has taken. It shows people that we are not alone, that there are good people that we can trust, that care about the future of the students. It begins with giving good food to them for their well-being.”
